Femine Form

With these sketches I focused both on the male and female form. I focused on the key differences with shape and movement between the to, to develop appealing sketches showing the proportions of the human anatomy.

I drew the original sketches in a brown/lighter colour pencil to make it easier for me to edit the work and change the body positioning of the mannequins. For the males, I focused on muscle detail and wanted to portray the movement and composition of the human arm and pectoral area. For the female, I focused on the proportions and width of the hips and shoulders comparatively to the waist and arms. I wanted to create a femininity to the female drawings, choosing positions which I knew I would find more difficult to draw. I used various pages from throughout Hart’s anatomy book in order to practice different positions and movements. I would like to continue these sketches further to more challenging positions with a focus on how angles have an effect on size and perspective.

In places, I have added shading to develop certain sketches. the shading and light source allows the muscles to have definition, tone and depth creating an overall more successful concept.
