Walk Cycle

Lizard Man Animation

I began by watching the tutorial provided through Canvas. I did not want to complicate the walk cycle by going into too much detail. This was due to lack of experience and I wanted to perfect the art of creating the animation first before going into this further. I drew each cycle frame by frame using photos from a real walk cycle to guide my animation. I then continued to edit the time between frames to achieve a fluid and comprehensive animation. Through doing this, I gained confidence with the process of developing an animation cycle.

I turned this then into a Disney style character and decided to animate him blinking and moving his tongue. I did not use much reference with this animation as I free-handed the idea from my imagination. However, I did research how Disney style eyes are drawn by looking at existing Disney characters with a focus on the villains. I then added simple colouring and shading as is consitent with the style of drawing I had researched. I would continue my research into animation in order to ensure a smooth transition of frame thereby resulting in a smoother outcome.
